Annual Meeting Highlights

Thanks to all of our neighbors, new and old, who came out in the rain to our CVCA annual community meeting & board election September 25 at the Village Learning Place.

Both of our State Delegates for District 43A, Delegate Regina T. Boyce and Delegate Elizabeth Embry shared highlights of the legislative session; District 14 City Councilwoman @ Councilwoman Odette Ramos and District 12 Candidate Jermaine Jones gave remarks.

BGE representatives reported on the recent outages in the neighborhood and met with residents to address concerns. File loss claims here

We learned about the Urban Tree Grant that is funding a massive street tree planting initiative here in Central Baltimore. More details to come soon.

There are several city charter amendments coming up in the November election. CVCA voted to join Abell and Harwood in opposing Question H which would reduce the size of our city council. We support maintaining the current council size to facilitate diverse representation and for our city council members to continue to provide robust support to their districts. CVCA also voted to oppose Question F related to the redevelopment of Inner Harbor.

CVCA welcomes three new board members: Jacqui Cummings, founder and CEO of Notre Maison Connects along 25th St.; Diana Emerson, executive director of Waverly Main Street; and Robbie Horwitz, JHU Off-Campus Housing Living Coordinator. CVCA looks forward to working with our new board members to strengthen our partnerships across the neighborhood.
